Support Group Admin
Duties:

Support Group Leader will advertise, organize, and facilitate weekly F4L online support groups. Groups focus on providing victims dealing with stalking issues including emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse with a place to receive information, support, and education about options, self-care, and personal empowerment. This is a Facebook Group platform that operates 24/7 with weekly live group sessions via FB Rooms.

Tasks:

 

  • Publicize group within the community;

  • Schedule and facilitate weekly support group;

  • Network within the community to increase awareness of and participation in the support group.;

  • Refer people to The Advocates services as necessary and appropriate;

  • Refer people to other social and community services as needed;

  • Track and report group attendance and other appropriate information as requested on a monthly basis.;

  • Submit monthly activity report;

  • Complete client intake paperwork for group attendees;

  • Attend required group leader and our victim advocate training;

  • Monitor the group posts as the page admin and make sure they stay relevant and follow group rules;

  • Post premade content to the group

  • Send reminders to the email group about weekly topics, supporting documents, and time and date of the weekly live group. 

Hours:

Approximately three hours per week. Groups are 1 -1.5 hours

 

Qualifications and requirements: 

 

  • Should have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED;

  • Should have knowledge of counseling and advocacy techniques for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including crisis intervention skills;

  • Must have knowledge of and be familiar with local community and social services and the court and criminal justice systems (Resources will be provided with where to find this information);

  • Must work well with persons of varied backgrounds including sexual preference, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic status, and individuals that are differently-abled.
